Why are public toilets riskier for transmitting viruses?

An investigation presented in the scientific journal Física de Fluidos reveals that the amount of aerosols that are generated in public bathrooms when activating the flush of toilets and urinals increases the risk of contagion of diseases.

The study shows that in the absence of adequate ventilation, the accumulation of human waste in the air increases.
