Iranian journalist Ahmad Reza Ruhollah Zad confirmed that holding the presidential elections on time is evidence of the strength and durability of state institutions in Syria.
In an interview with SANA's correspondent in Tehran, Ruhollah Zad, Deputy Director of the Jerusalem News Agency, Secretary of the Political Committee of the Association for the Defense of the Palestinian People, indicated that holding elections in Syria is an embodiment of democracy and popular sovereignty and an affirmation that the Syrian people are the ones who decide the future of their country, defying all circumstances and pressures.
He pointed out that some countries oppose holding these elections because they perpetuate the victories achieved by the Syrian people in the face of their terrorist plans, pointing out that despite all political, economic and military interventions and pressures, the will of the Syrian government and people will lead to successful, free and fair elections that embody the concept of popular sovereignty.
