The volunteers of the Sea-Watch organization have rescued more than 40 people in the central Mediterranean from distress.
The crew of the Sea-Watch 4 came across the rubber dinghy with the people in the search and rescue zone after a little less than 24 hours, the organization announced on Thursday evening.
The people were therefore brought on board and given medical care there.

The Sea-Watch 4 left the port of the Spanish city of Burriana just under a week ago.
Previously, the ship was detained for months by the authorities of the Sicilian city of Palermo because of a legal dispute.
Meanwhile, the "Ocean Viking" of the aid organization SOS Mediterranee, with 236 rescued boat migrants on board, is looking for a safe haven to bring them ashore.
The people were rescued from two overstaffed rubber dinghies in the Mediterranean off Libya on Tuesday.
According to the organization, more than 100 unaccompanied minors are among them.
