The Technical University of Munich, which is also based in Freising, has achieved the top spot in an international ranking.

- The Technical University of Munich (TUM) has achieved first place worldwide in the "THE Impact Ranking" in the industry, innovation and infrastructure category.
The ranking includes performance in research as well as in patents, spin-offs and cooperation with companies.
The British magazine "Times Higher Education" examines for "THE Impact Ranking" the effectiveness of universities in various categories that are based on the global sustainability goals of the United Nations.
In the area of industry, innovation and infrastructure, the ranking records the number of research publications in fields that are important for sustainably effective innovations.
British study: TU Munich achieves the highest number of points
It also examines how often research work is cited in patents, how many start-ups are founded and how much third-party research funding universities receive from industry.
The TUM achieved the highest possible number of points and thus, together with the University of British Columbia, the University of Toronto and the TU Delft, the top position worldwide.
Important partners of TUM in the Top 100 are, for example, Imperial College London (16th place) and École Polytechnique (44th place).
Other studies also show TUM's achievements: It is ranked 12th worldwide in the current “Global University Employability Ranking”, in which companies rate the quality of TUM graduates.
