Today, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection put the Amiri bakery in the Al-Sakhour neighborhood of Aleppo city into service with a daily production capacity of 11 and a half tons of bread after it was restored and rehabilitated as a result of the devastation and destruction it suffered due to terrorism, during the visit of Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Talal Al-Barazi to the bakery.

Engineer Jihad Samman, director of Aleppo bakery branch, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the bakery currently contains one production line and that in the future it could be increased to three additional lines to serve the neighborhoods of Sheikh Khader, Sheikh Faris, Bustan Al-Basha, Al-Hulk, Tareeq Al-Bab, and part of Hanano, pointing out that the total number of bakeries in the governorate Aleppo became 29 bakeries containing 38 production lines and a daily production capacity of 350 tons of bread.

Minister Al-Barazi was also briefed on the rehabilitation and restoration work of the Kafr Jum silo for storing grain, which was also damaged by terrorism, and it consists of 12 metal cells with a storage capacity of 12 thousand tons of grain.

Eng. Yusef Qassem, Director General of the Syrian Foundation for Grain, explained that the Kafr Jom silo site for storing grains is the first site to be rehabilitated in the Governorate of Aleppo, which had a storage capacity of “Dokma” of one million and one hundred thousand tons, most of which were out of service due to terrorism, and today it is being rehabilitated with expertise. And local national hands taking advantage of three destroyed sites to create this site and place it with investment before the start of the grain receipt operations for this season from farmers, and they can be used by re-emptying and packing them again more than once a day.

During his visit to the hall of the Syrian Foundation for Trade in the Bustan al-Qasr neighborhood, the minister briefed al-Barazi about the availability of consumer, supply and foodstuffs there, commitment to prices, and the offering of materials at lower prices lower than the market at rates ranging between 10 and 25 percent.

Al-Barazi stated in a statement to reporters that all prices at the level of consumer goods have decreased after the exchange rate has been set and the purchasing power of the Syrian pound has stabilized, in addition to the efforts made by the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to control prices and meetings with economic actors, industrialists, craftsmen and the tourism sector to study the articles of Decree No. 8 With the aim of the merchant, industrialist and supplier commitment to the foundations of the commercial relationship that ensure logical profit and price control according to standards to be determined by the Central Pricing Committee and the pricing committees at the provincial level.

He pointed to the commitment of a large number of merchants and industrialists to prices and granting the invoice with a few percentages that violated the content of the decree and were subjected to control, pointing to the continuing efforts to increase the level of awareness and stressing the need to adhere to the principles of maintaining a safe commercial market and reassuring food products for the citizen at reasonable prices that satisfy the consumer and give the merchant his right at a rate. Natural profit.

The Director General of the Syrian Trade Corporation, Ahmed Najm, referred to the efforts made by the corporation to provide all food, consumer and subsidized goods to citizens through its halls and to place the cars required to serve the institution in Aleppo to secure these materials in the countryside and the city, stressing the continuation of work to open new sales outlets for citizens.

In addition, Minister Al-Barazi discussed with the supply family in Aleppo the measures taken to control prices and the mechanisms followed to implement Legislative Decree No. 8 for the year 2021, which aims to protect consumers and merchants by organizing economic and commercial relations, controlling markets and organizing penalties, calling on the concerned authorities in the province to work on price control, commodity control and monitoring Cases related to gross violations of up to seven years, including fraud, the presence of expired materials and unfit for human consumption, materials of unknown origin, or material exposure to contamination as a result of improper storage.

The meeting and the tour were attended by the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, Engineer Jamal Shuaib, Assistant Minister and the central directors of the Ministry.
