Within minutes: Two motorcyclists were killed in accidents in Beitar Illit and Or Akiva

Two motorcyclists were killed tonight (Thursday) in accidents in Beitar Illit and Or Akiva, within minutes. Near Beitar Illit, a 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a private vehicle on Road 375 near Beitar Illit. The MDA team that arrived at the scene determined his death and evacuated two women, the passengers of the vehicle, in a light condition to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
MDA paramedic Erali Levy said that "we arrived at the scene of the accident and saw the motorcyclist trapped under the private vehicle. "The fire, we performed medical tests on him, he was unconscious with no pulse and no breathing and with a very severe multi-system injury and unfortunately we have no choice but to determine his death on the spot. Two women from the private vehicle were treated on the spot and evacuated to hospital when their condition was mild."
Ten minutes later, a report was received at the MDA hotline about a 30-year-old motorcyclist who was injured in a car accident on Aliza Yansin Street in Or Akiva. The MDA team that arrived at the scene determined his death at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle was evacuated in light condition to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera.
Police said they have opened an investigation into the accident.

28 motorcyclists have been killed since the beginning of the year
After the deaths of the two, according to data from the Green Light Association, 28 motorcyclists and scooter riders have been killed since the beginning of 2021 compared to 18 riders killed on the same date last year - an increase of 55%.
This is the 110th death this year compared to 81 deaths from road accidents last year an increase of 35%.
Erez Kita, CEO of the Green Light Association: "An accident follows an accident and the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety are moving to the agenda.
This is a direct result of the policy of starvation and the reduction of money that was intended for road safety for all of us.
"A state of emergency must be declared today and the government must convene to approve the national road safety plan and implement it."
