president, prime minister and other senior officials in Israel reacted with sorrow and astonishment to the tragedy that occurred tonight (Thursday to Friday) in Meron in which at least 40 people died as a result of an unusual urge caused by the celebration.
President Robbie Rivlin commented on the incident and said: "With great anxiety I am following the reports from Meron and praying for the healing of the wounded. Please do not heal them."

Interior Minister Aryeh Deri said: "My heart is broken in the face of the heavy disaster in the merriment in Meron. I pray for the peace of the wounded and strengthen the rescue forces operating in the area. 'Please heal me.'
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also referred to the tragic event and said: "A heavy disaster on Mount Meron. We are all praying for the healing of the injured. I want to strengthen the rescue forces operating there."

Transport Minister Miri Regev referred to the disaster that occurred and said: "I follow with deep anxiety and pray for the safety of the injured in the severe disaster in Meron. My heart goes out at this difficult time with the families of the victims and the rescue and security forces operating at the scene.
I follow with concern pain and anxiety the terrible disaster that occurred during the revelry in Meron.
The whole of Israel is now praying for the healing of the injured.
