The new crown pneumonia epidemic has rebounded again, and the fifth variant virus has reached the city!

Following the diagnosis of the South African variant virus by a Filipino helper in Caribbean Coast, Tung Chung, residents of the Meiyuan Building in Tsim Sha Tsui were also infected with the N501Y variant virus today (3rd). Residents in the entire building must be evacuated to the quarantine center tonight for 21 days.

The infected woman was 28 years old. She arrived in Hong Kong from Delhi, India, on the 4th of last month on the "epidemic aircraft" UK6395. She tested negative multiple times during the period. It was not until last Friday (April 30) that the result was shown as "uncertain". The initial diagnosis was delayed until now (3rd), and the antibody was positive.

It is understood that its CT value is greater than 30, which means that the amount of virus is low, that is, it has been infected for a period of time and has produced antibodies.

Checking the data shows that nearly 60 confirmed cases have been recorded on the flight taken by the infected woman, and the circuit breaker mechanism has been triggered in the middle of last month and the flight has been banned.

The Center for Health Protection said in the evening that a 28-year-old woman was initially diagnosed with the N501Y variant virus.

The infected woman is a housewife. On April 4, she flew to Hong Kong from Delhi, India by flight UK6395 operated by TATA SIA Airlines (Vistara). She completed quarantine at the Regal Oriental Hotel in Kowloon City on April 25 and returned to the Meiyuan Building in Tsim Sha Tsui. Residence.

Last Friday (April 30), she went to the community testing center for testing on the 26th day after arriving in Hong Kong according to the mandatory testing requirements. The result was "Uncertain." She was admitted to the hospital yesterday (2nd), and was eventually diagnosed with the virus. It was initially positive and was positive for antibodies.

It is understood that its CT value is greater than 30, which means that the virus load is low.

The Center for Health Protection believes that she had stayed in the community from April 25 to May 2 and may be contagious. To be prudent, she sent the asymptomatic residents of the Meiyuan Building where she lived to the quarantine center and quarantined for 21 days; if Residents who develop symptoms will be sent to hospital for treatment. The entire building involves about 40 units.

Meiyuan Building, located at 71 Kimberley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, has a 9-storey building and a total of 36 units.

Many police cars were parked downstairs in the building at 9 o'clock tonight. A large number of police officers and government personnel wearing full protective equipment surrounded the building, preparing to evacuate the residents of the entire building.

A woman told the police officers present that she was a resident of the building, and the police officers then let her go upstairs.
