It is hoped that the first devices will be ready for use after the Whitsun holidays and offer the children more protection against corona viruses

Fürstenfeldbruck -

The topic had caused a stir in the past few months. Last summer, the SPD applied for the purchase of the air purifier due to the corona pandemic. After an initial analysis, devices were tested in schools. In March, the city council finally decided to buy air purifiers in two parts - first for the final classes of elementary and middle schools, then more depending on the wishes of the school management.

As chamberlain Susanne Moroff reported to the city council, all school administrators responded to a proposal from the city during the Easter holidays.

Some were satisfied with the city's proposal, while others expressed specific wishes.

"If the school administrators decide this way, that's okay," said applicant Mirko Pötzsch (SPD).

You don't want to impose anything on anyone.

According to the feedback from the elementary and middle schools, the city has to purchase 154 devices.

The North Kindergarten also wants two of them.

"The other leaders of the kindergartens consider CO2 traffic lights to be sufficient," reported Moroff.

The city will buy these too.

The first range - 29 devices for the final classes and teachers' room - has already been advertised, the second will follow. The city received 15 offers, according to Moroff. The bid could be made in the next few days. The city has to reckon with around 4,000 euros per device, with 156 devices that makes 624,000 euros, whereby the city can count on a maximum subsidy of 351,000 euros. The chamberlain reported that the grant application was ready to be signed. This means that it can be submitted on time. "Everything is on schedule," promised Mayor Erich Raff. In addition, there are almost 15,000 euros for the CO2 traffic lights.

With the exception of the Mitte school, electrical installations also have to be retrofitted.

235,000 euros have been earmarked for this in the budget.

“We'll see if that's enough.” Since the city council has decided to finance the investment from other budget funds, savings will have to be made elsewhere, emphasized Moroff.

She wants to make a suggestion in the next few meetings.

The city is expecting the first delivery of equipment during the Whitsun holidays.

The chamberlain suspects that things will go relatively quickly with the CO2 traffic lights.

The councilors were satisfied with the outcome of the matter, which had sparked heated discussions.

There was positive action here, said Pötzsch.

"Why did the dissatisfaction have to arise first?"
