During the merriment in Meron held three years ago, in 2018, its participants warned of the hustle and bustle right where the disaster occurred tonight.
The ultra-Orthodox journalist Arie Elich from a family newspaper then tweeted the following: "First note of order - the narrow exit path leading from the lighting ceremony of the Toldot Aharon storks creates a human bottleneck and terrible urgency, at the level of real danger of extinction. And this is the only exit (!). "We want to prevent the recurrence of the funeral of the late Rabbi Wazner (a case in which two people were crushed to death). The lighting must not be carried out on the spot before creating a wide and controlled exit."

The headline itself quoted participants at the time as reveling that they were "crazy here. Terrible urgency, danger of crushing and there is only a narrow exit."
