Jordan announced the reopening of two land crossings with Syria and Saudi Arabia to travelers, nearly nine months after they were closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Jordanian News Agency quoted the Ministry of Interior as saying in a statement today, “As of today, the land platform at the Al-Omari Border Center with Saudi Arabia was activated by 200 people per day and at the Jaber-Nassib Border Center by 150 people per day according to the approved health conditions, in order to facilitate and simplify Measures".
The Ministry called on those wishing to enter Jordan through these two crossings to register on a dedicated government electronic platform and conduct a Corona PCR examination five days before their arrival in order to obtain approval for entry.
The traveler will undergo a new examination upon arrival in the country and quarantine for a period of 14 days in case he is infected with the epidemic.
The number of Coronavirus infections in Jordan has decreased during the past few weeks, and today it recorded 1272 cases and 28 deaths, after reaching record numbers last March, reaching more than 9,000 cases and more than 100 deaths in the 22nd.
