Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit announced today (Monday) that there is no legal impediment to establishing a state commission of inquiry into the Meron disaster in the transitional government, despite the difficulties that arise from such a march.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Justice, Bnei Gantz, contacted Mandelblit yesterday in order to provide an opinion that would allow the establishment of such a commission of inquiry.
In the reply letter to Gantz, Mandelblit wrote: Not negligible in everything related to the investigation of the event in all its aspects.
"It is understood that as long as at the end of the day, it is decided by the political echelon to bring this matter to the approval of the government, I will formulate an individual opinion relating to the concrete proposal that will be on the agenda, as is customary."
