At about half past midnight today (4th), the police received a large number of reports from the public at the same time that they suspected a car crash and fighting off Wah On Building, Wah Fu Estate, Aberdeen. Many men used stick-like objects to fight and destroy vehicles.
However, after investigation by the police, it is believed that the incident involved a police pursuit and it was not a bloody incident.
According to on-the-spot information, a van and a private car from the Special Duty Squad of the Western District Police were following a private car suspected of being drug-related. When it was on the way to Hua'an Building, Huafu Village, the two police cars flanked back and forth. They were suspicious. The car stopped, but someone refused to get off the car. The police officer blasted the windows of the suspicious car with a telescopic baton, subduing the male driver and arresting him.
According to sources, as of 3 am, plainclothes detectives were still searching for vehicles at the scene, and initially no contraband was found.
