The Ramadan initiatives implemented by the Child Welfare Association in Homs since the beginning of the month of Ramadan aim to strengthen solidarity in the community and consolidate volunteer work through the great efforts made by the volunteers of young men and women in the association to deliver food baskets and prepare daily breakfast meals and Eid clothes to orphaned children.

Razan Atassi, president of the association, says: All the workers and volunteers of the association work double efforts during the holy month to deliver aid and breakfast meals on time to families registered with the association in addition to distributing food baskets in response to the bread and salt initiative launched by the Homs Chamber of Industry in full coordination and cooperation with the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor and delivery of baskets. To the beneficiaries, noting that during the holy month 700 baskets from the bread and salt initiative were distributed, in addition to the distribution of 1500 food baskets from the association in the districts of Al-Bayada, Khaldiya and Al-Qusour. The total number of needy families in the association is about 2,500 families.

Lama Hilal, the kitchen responsible for the association, explains that breakfast meals are prepared daily for more than a hundred families, and the volunteer women work to prepare various food dishes from the rich Syrian cuisine with the distribution of fasting bread, dates and others, as all health requirements are taken into account when preparing and distributing them in closed and wrapped dishes, as the young man pointed out. Bilal Al-Habbal, responsible for the relief department of the association, volunteered about 75 of the youths for the volunteer work in the association and to contribute to the preparation and distribution of baskets and various aids provided to families registered with the association based on the pioneering role of young people as Syrian youth who are responsible and responsible towards the family and the homeland.

In turn, a number of volunteers in the association called for the importance of consolidating the concept of volunteering by providing what is possible of good and work that contributes to spreading love and familiarity in society and preserving our noble human values.
