The day after Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the withdrawal, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region, from the LREM list for the benefit of outgoing President Renaud Muselier, the latter praised the "
common sense
" of the government majority for this support, while excluding a “
merger of the lists
”.

The Prime Minister's statements have caused a stir within my political family
," Renaud Muselier declared in the preamble to journalists.
Before coming to clarify the consequences of the withdrawal of LREM on its own list.
"
There is no device agreement, no merging of lists,
" warned the outgoing president.
"
Let things be very clear, this list is first and foremost that of the current regional majority
," he added, while denouncing "
fake news
" circulating on the subject.
Focus on "local issues"
The conditions to which future candidates will have to comply to compete alongside the outgoing president have also been set out.
"
I will give priority to candidates who commit to devote themselves with all their strength
" to "
local issues, and not national
", warned the Republican.
Thus excluding "
holders of national mandates, whether ministers, deputies, senators and European deputies
".
A provision that could effectively exclude the former head of the LREM list, Sophie Cluzel, unless she resigns from her post of Secretary of State for People with Disabilities.

We will see the choice they will make in relation to the national strategy

For the moment, the minister's entourage indicates, however, that such a scenario is not envisaged and that the former head of the list will indeed appear on the list of the outgoing president.

While awaiting the constitution of the lists, the deposit of which will be made by May 17 at the latest, Renaud Muselier will travel to Paris this Tuesday to participate in two meetings scheduled at the headquarters of the Republicans in Paris.
The Republican will ask, again, "
the support
" of his "
political family
", in the absence of his nomination.
