The Walnut case: the personality of Nordahl Lelandais scrutinized

On the first day of the trial for the murder of Corporal Arthur Noyer, the Assize Court of Savoie took a long interest in the personality of the accused.


This Monday, at the Chambéry courthouse, Arthur Noyer's parents placed a portrait of their son in front of the accused's box in which Nordahl Lelandais then settled.

Neat and athletic overall appearance, pale blue shirt and beige pants, short graying hair and short beard, the 38-year-old man faces thirty years in prison for the murder of the corporal of the 13th battalion of Alpine hunters, near Chambéry, on April 12 2017.

On the first day of the trial, he admitted to having

"killed"

the 23-year-old young man, while denying any homicidal intent.

He nodded when Me Bernard Boulloud, the lawyer for the Noyer family, said:

"You had the right to live, Arthur, and you killed him!"

And apologized to the victim's family.

"I have never been a big fan of work"

The Assize Court of Savoy took a long interest in the personality of the accused.

Described by his mother as a

"gentle and kind"

child

, Nordahl Lelandais was born in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine) on February 18
