An accident occurred on the Sha Tin section of Tai Po Highway. At about 12 noon today (4th), a truck loaded with construction materials left Kowloon along the Tai Po Highway and passed the New Town Plaza when the cargo on the truck suddenly scattered on the road.
The driver called the police, and the traffic on the site was once blocked due to the influence of construction materials.
The Transport Department announced that the Sha Tin section of Tai Po Road in the direction of Kowloon is near the Sha Tin MTR station and only express trains are left.
The Transport Department announced that due to a traffic accident, the Tai Po Highway-Sha Tin section (toward Kowloon) near the central and slow lines of the Sha Tin MTR station was closed. Motorists can only use the express lanes.
At present, the traffic on the above road section has reached the Tolo Highway near Tate’s Cairn Highway, causing traffic congestion.
