Corona in Nuremberg: Incidence surprisingly decreased - over a third have already received a first vaccination

Nuremberg - The seven-day incidence * has fallen below 200 again in Nuremberg. The Robert Koch Institute * (RKI) reports an incidence value of 188.5 in the city this Tuesday (May 4). The value has not been so low for a long time. On Monday (May 3rd) Nuremberg * had just over 200. The RKI reported a total of 31,856 infected people since the beginning of the pandemic, 64 of whom were new. 180 people with coronavirus * are currently being treated in the hospital, 42 of them are in the intensive care unit, 3 fewer than the day before. A total of 909 people have died with or from the virus so far.

According to the city of Nuremberg, 35,226, almost 7 percent, have been completely vaccinated so far.

So far, 176,255 vaccine doses have been injected in the Franconian metropolis.

That corresponds to about 34 percent of the population.

Of these, 75,123 have been administered in the vaccination center, 54,072 by the mobile teams and 36,280 in the medical practices.

In addition, almost 11,000 vaccinations * were given in the hospitals.

Almost 7,000 doses of vaccine were administered in one day.

Corona in the Nuremberg area: Slight decline also in the neighboring city of Fürth

There was also a slight decrease in the incidence in the neighboring town of Fürth.

While the seven-day incidence on Monday was 228, it was 217.9 this Tuesday, according to the Fürth health department.

Currently, a total of 7,056 have been infected with the corona virus in the rural and urban districts, 9 of which are new.

In Fürth, 201 people have now died from or with the virus.
