Deir Ezzor-Sana
The Deir Ezzor Agriculture Directorate has put into service two irrigation projects in the towns of Al-Taybeh and Maqan in the eastern countryside of the governorate, after rehabilitating them from the damage they suffered as a result of terrorism, as part of the project to rehabilitate the irrigation groups in the governorate.
The Director of Agriculture, Eng. Abdel Hamid Abdel Hamid, told SANA's correspondent that the two projects were implemented in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, and they are among the vital projects that come within the framework of the work to replant and irrigate areas that have been damaged during previous years as a result of terrorism, which contributes to returning them to the agricultural process. Indicating that the two projects irrigate about 7 thousand dunums, of which 4 thousand dunums are in Maqan and 3 thousand dunums are in Al-Taybeh.
In turn, the director of the water and sanitation department at the Red Crescent Organization branch in Deir Ezzor, Engineer Muhammad Dhiab, indicated that the works that were carried out included the installation of 4 agricultural groups in Maqan and 3 in Taybeh with a capacity of 75 horsepower each with a generation group of 250 kV A capacity and operating panels in addition to maintenance Pumps and suction tubes.
A number of farmers praised the efforts made to restore production in the agricultural sector in Deir Ezzor, which would contribute to supporting the national economy and securing a source of income for the people returning to their villages and fields.
