The United States' trade deficit widened further in March, reaching a new peak at $ 74.4 billion as a result of a rapid recovery, the Commerce Department said on Tuesday.

In March, the trade deficit increased 5.6% from the adjusted data of the previous month, with imports up 6.3% to $ 274.5 billion and exports rebounding 6.6% to $ 200 billion.
