In a few days, nationwide contact and exit restrictions for vaccinated and convalescent people should fall - in Bavaria even earlier.

Some are already planning on.

Munich / Berlin - Just in time for the weekend, the corona rules for vaccinated and convalescent people are to be relaxed nationwide. "In the future, vaccinated and recovered people will no longer have any restrictions on contact and exit restrictions," announced Federal Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD *). If the Bundestag and Bundesrat agree on Thursday and Friday as planned, the easing could take effect on Saturday. And Bavaria is even one step faster. Here, vaccinated and convalescent people who tested negative will be treated equally from Thursday.

In practice, this means first of all, those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered can then meet with other vaccinated persons and are not included in meetings with unvaccinated persons in family or friends.

There are no test and quarantine requirements, and the nightly curfew in hotspots no longer applies to those who have been completely vaccinated.

Mask requirement and distance rules apply further.

Corona: relief for vaccinated and convalescent - proof soon to be the most important everyday document?

As proof of a complete vaccination, proof on paper or digitally in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish should be accepted nationwide. A recovery can be proven in Bavaria with a positive PCR test with a date - this requires documentation of a vaccination after six months. If the infection was less than six months ago, a negative test will be requested instead of proof of vaccination after the isolation has ended.

These not so simple regulations could soon become important in everyday life for many Germans.

Because in Berlin politics there are already calls for much more far-reaching relief throughout the country.

The head of the CSU * MPs in the Bundestag, Alexander Dobrindt, is committed to reopening culture, gastronomy and hotels for vaccinated and convalescent nationwide in regions with low numbers of infections.

More normality must be possible.

You can't wait until everyone in Germany has been vaccinated *.

“Fundamental rights cannot be restricted by the fact that some do not want to be vaccinated or have not yet been vaccinated,” emphasizes Dobrindt.

Further corona easing in Germany?

FDP boss Lindner calls for openings with a concept

And FDP * boss Christian Lindner, as a reaction to the development of the Corona * infections, calls for further easing, even for people with a negative test.

"In view of the decline in infection rates and the significantly accelerated vaccination campaign, steps must now be taken to open the door," says Lindner.

"Outside of hotspots, the 3G rule should apply throughout Germany: restaurants, retailers, hotels, museums, theaters and cinemas with protective concepts should reopen for vaccinated, convalescent and tested people."

Tensions over vaccination relief?

Karl Lauterbach (SPD) fears resentment

SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach, on the other hand, warns against a quick opening of restaurants and hotels. It is true that it is "a necessary and good decision" to withdraw the restrictions on fundamental rights for vaccinated people. However: "What is not possible is that shops or restaurants are only opened to those who have been vaccinated." That would lead to great tensions. A comprehensive control of openings is difficult and it is now important to ensure the proven success in combating the pandemic. "We must not make the mistake of risking a quick, early relapse now," emphasized the SPD man. "We are still very far from herd immunity."

The Greens, on the other hand, mainly criticize the uncoordinated solo efforts of some countries such as Bavaria. Berlin's Prime Minister Michael Müller (SPD) is also calling for a nationwide agreement on how to proceed during the summer holidays.
