In the past few months, this has repeatedly been an argument to close gyms, especially when it comes to indoor sports.
The middle school in Miesbach has now got a trump card: it can use the TEV Miesbach air purification device free of charge until the summer holidays.
TEV Miesbach wanted to position itself optimally in August 2020 so that it can play through the upcoming season in the Bavarian Ice Hockey League - ideally with spectators.
For this, the ice sports club bought an air purification device for over 5000 euros.
But the investment was - at least in view of the past season - an unnecessary expense.
Because the season was canceled in November.
The result: The high-performance air purifier hardly received an “Ice Age”.
Air purifiers should do a good job
But you didn't buy the device to stand around, says TEV chairman Dieter Taffel: “The air purifier should do a good job.” So he asked Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller whether he might know of a new area of application.
"This is how the cleaner came to middle school."
There the device is currently on hold, as it were, because the school is currently in distance learning and the clubs have not yet given the go-ahead for sports in the hall.
Taffel still sees the loan as a good solution: “It should especially enable children to play.
And even if it shouldn't be a regulation, the device gives you a good feeling of having done as much as possible. "
Powerful device
That was also shown in the Miesbach ice rink.
We used it there for training and games, ”reports Taffel, referring to the performance level.
“We exchanged the air in the hall within three hours.” The air purifier can also dehumidify, remove smoke and remove dust.
And the long proboscis has always provided fun.
Birgit Ostermeier, the principal of the middle school, is pleased that her school is allowed to use the device - even if classroom teaching is necessary.
“It's definitely extra security,” she says.
The gym is usually used by many sports clubs.
"That is why it is a good perspective for sport - whether at school or in a club."
