Hong Kong Airlines was again involved in financial disputes. Yesterday (4th), a construction company filed a civil lawsuit in the High Court, stating that it signed an agreement with Hong Kong Airlines in 2018 and that Hong Kong Airlines had to pay the construction company.
However, Hong Kong Airlines was involved in arrears of about 290 million yuan, and the construction company filed a lawsuit.
The plaintiff is Hip Hing Construction Co., Ltd. and the defendant is Hong Kong Airlines Co., Ltd.
The filing stated that the plaintiff and the defendant signed a supplementary agreement on November 29, 2018, and the defendant was required to pay the plaintiff.
However, as of April 30 this year, the defendant owed more than 210 million yuan in principal and 80 million yuan in interest, a total of about 290 million yuan.
According to the plaintiff’s webpage, one of the plaintiff’s projects was the Hong Kong Aviation Flight Training Center at Chek Lap Kok. The center was 11 stories high and was completed in 2019.
