The approval of the executive's action dates back to May, with 41% favorable opinions for Emmanuel Macron as for Jean Castex, but the French remain in the majority (59%) to judge it negatively, according to an Ifop-Fiducial poll for Paris Match and Sud Radio published Tuesday.

The approval of Emmanuel Macron's action increased by 2 points, to 41%, with a dissatisfied rate which fell in parallel by 2 points, to 59%. At 41% also, Prime Minister Jean Castex is at the same level of approval, but the rise is stronger: it is 5 points since a low of 36% reached in April. Nearly six in ten French people (59%, -5 points) also continue to have a negative opinion.
Asked about the image they have of the head of state, 52% of French people believe that saying that he "
defends the interests of France abroad
" corresponds well to him. But a majority considers that "
renews the presidential function
" (57%), "
leads a good economic policy
" (60%), "
has a vision for the future of the French
" (60%), "
is close to the concerns of French
”(68%) were rated poorly. As for Jean Castex, the image features offered are mostly judged as poorly corresponding to him: 52% think that saying that "
he is a man of dialogue
" does not suit him. Same negative assessment concerning "
directs the action of his government well
”(57%),“ is close to the concerns of the French ”(63%),“
who inspires you with confidence
”(64%) and“
is capable of reforming the country
”(71%) .
Survey conducted on April 28 and 29 by self-administered online questionnaire to a sample of 1002 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error of 1.4 to 3.1 points.
