This is the right decision for Toni Roiderer from Straßlach.
“There's no half an Oktoberfest.

That doesn't work in the pandemic. ”Roiderer is the host of the hacker tent and was the spokesman for the Oktoberfest hosts for 15 years.
The 76-year-old believes that the state government and Lord Mayor Reiter have made sensible decisions: “Because it's too dangerous.” And because the Oktoberfest is the flagship of the folk festivals, the others, the Rosenheim Autumn Festival, the Straubing Gäubodenfest - and the folk festivals in the environment.

Roiderer thinks it's good that the cancellation came early.
Now hosts and showmen would have clarity before they made any advance payments.

Alexander Greulich very much hopes that Festwirt Greiner will return to the bar.
“We have signed him up again,” says Ismaning's town hall chief, “the kitchen is good.
The marquee has a nice atmosphere. ”But a folk festival with distance rules would not be left out and also not lucrative, as the festival committee and the landlord agreed.
“We're not giving up hope that we can organize something in autumn,” says Greulich, “maybe a cultural festival around the castle park”.
Street festival in Ottobrunn "would be reckless"
After the Oktoberfest ended, the street festival on September 11th was also canceled in Ottobrunn.
“Our secret of success has always been the date on the last weekend of the summer vacation”, reports Mayor Thomas Loderer.
"People haven't seen each other for a while and take a quick breath before everyday life starts again with school."
But will everyone be vaccinated by then?
And do people return home from vacation with new virus variants?
"It would be careless", agree Loderer and main organizer Susanne Vordermaier.
Especially since the general election is approaching and on September 26th citizens, election workers and town hall employees want to do their job at the ballot box in a healthy and fit manner.
Idea for a booth campaign in Unterschleißheim
