The Center for Health Protection pointed out that the two Philippine domestic helpers were found through mandatory testing by foreign domestic helpers, and they were both involved in the highly infectious N501Y variant virus strain. Therefore, all residents in the building where they lived must be evacuated for 21 days of quarantine.
Together with these three patients, there are a total of 10 cases of community variant virus.

The Centre for Health Protection announced that all three imported cases were imported from Nepal, involving a 45-year-old woman (#11794) and a 37-year-old woman (#11795). The Health Protection Center stated that #11793 has a low virus load, with a CT value greater than 30, and contains N501Y and E484K variant virus strains, which are expected to be South African variants.

Further analysis by the Public Health Laboratory Service Office of the Department of Health showed that #11793 and #11797 are both related to the highly infectious N501Y variant virus strain, so they will live in buildings, including Block N2, Kornhill, Quarry Bay and Mount Pokfulam, on all floors. Households with no symptoms in the unit were sent to the quarantine center, involving about 230 and 30 units respectively.
If residents develop symptoms, they are sent to hospital for treatment.
These people will undergo a 21-day compulsory quarantine.
