The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection of Mexico City confirmed on Tuesday that Brandon Giovanny Hernández Tapia, 12, is one of the victims left by the collapse of a section of the capital's subway Mexican this Monday.

On Monday night an elevated section of the Mexico City subway collapsed causing the fall of several cars with passengers inside.

On Tuesday night, the head of government of the country's capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed more than 20 deaths, including minors, and at least 65 injured, 7 of them seriously.

The Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection made a microsite available to the public that is constantly updated with information on hospitalized, deceased and missing persons.

Brandon Giovanny Hernández Tapia was one of the disappeared and his mother was looking for him.

According to information from the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office, “the minor was traveling in the company of an adult, who through a telephone call informed the complainant that they were heading home last night, and that both they were at the Periférico Oriente station on Line 12 of the CDMX Metro ”.

After the collapse of the subway, indicates the Prosecutor's Office, the mother tried to communicate again with the adult without him answering the calls.

The minor's mother located the adult during the first hours of this Tuesday, but not her son, the Prosecutor's Office reported.
