After the yellow rainstorm warning signal was issued by the Observatory yesterday (4th) night, Hong Kong now has sunshine after rain.

Today (5th) is the "lixia" in the 24 solar terms, which represents the coming of summer. The observatory recorded 31.7 degrees this afternoon, which is tied with 1970 as the second hottest Lixia in history and the hottest in more than half a century.

The Observatory predicts that a fresh easterly airstream will affect the coast of Guangdong tomorrow (6th), and there will be one or two showers.

As the high-altitude anticyclone intensified, the coastal areas of South China were generally sunny close to the weekend. The temperature in the urban area will rise to 31 degrees for four consecutive days starting from Friday (7th), and the areas of Taguling and Sheung Shui will be hot for several days starting from Friday and expected to reach 33 degrees , Up to the extreme heat.

According to the Observatory, the winds along the coast of Guangdong were weak today and the weather was generally good.

At the same time, the pressure on the southeastern coast of China is rising, and a fresh easterly airstream is expected to reach the coast of Guangdong this evening.

As of 2 pm, the Observatory had recorded a maximum of 31.7 degrees, and Sham Shui Po had recorded a maximum of 33 degrees, which was extremely hot.

Today, it also tied the record of the second hottest Lixia since 1970, and the hottest Lixia was 32.4 degrees in 1952.

The Observatory predicts that it will be generally fine today, with a hot afternoon and haze in some areas.

It will gradually turn cloudy with one or two showers tonight; there is a light breeze, and it will be gentle at night until a fresh easterly wind.

It’s hot on Mother’s Day but there are showers in some areas

A southerly airstream will bring hot weather to the area early next week, but there will be showers in some areas.

It will be sunny and hot from Friday. Sunday (9th) is the annual Mother’s Day. The Observatory expects sunshine and heat during part of the day, with showers in some areas. The temperature ranges from 26 to 31 degrees in Ta Kwu Ling, Sheung Shui and Shigang sees a high of 33 degrees, but the daily temperature difference in Daguling is 10 degrees. The public should pay attention to weather changes.

However, a trough of low pressure will bring unstable weather to southern China in the middle of next week.

The Observatory predicts that starting next Wednesday (12th), it will be generally cloudy for three consecutive days, with a few showers and thunderstorms in some areas.

The maximum temperature will also drop slightly, falling through the "3-letter" to a maximum of 29 degrees. People should remember to bring rain gear when going out.
