Avignon: Eric M., a policeman and "exemplary" father, killed by a drug trafficker

PORTRAIT - From a family of police officers, the 36-year-old man, killed during an anti-drug operation, leaves behind two little girls, aged 5 and 7.


Only ten days after the terrorist assassination of police official Stéphanie Monfeture in Rambouillet (Yvelines), the blue house was again targeted, Wednesday, in the early evening, in Avignon (Vaucluse). While he was going to finish his day shift within the intervention brigade of the interdepartmental public security district of Vaucluse-Gard, Eric M. was called, alongside several colleagues, to a point of deal in the city center. Upon arrival, the police observed a drug resale transaction. A man shot the 36-year-old official, targeting him in the abdomen and heart. He could not be resuscitated by the SAMU and the firefighters, intervened on the spot. Meanwhile, her murderer was on the run.

He had also worked in the Val-de-Marne within the Anti-Crime Brigade (Bac) of Chennevières-sur-Marne.
