Chelsea eliminated Real Madrid on Wednesday and qualified for the final of the Champions League, which will be again between English clubs for the second time in three years.
The team led by Thomas Tuchel became strong at Stamford Bridge and won the semi-final back 2-0, with a goal from Germany's Timo Werner in the 28th minute and another from Mason Mount in the 85th minute.
The London team had stolen a 1-1 draw from Madrid when they played the first leg in the Spanish capital.
Chelsea, who were the first London team to win a Champions League in 2012, will face Manchester City in the grand final in Istanbul on 29 May.
The last time that two Englishmen met in a definition for the "orejona" was just two years ago, when Liverpool defeated Tottenham in the 2018-2019 Champions League final.
Before that, the last exclusively English final had been in the 2007-2008 edition of the top European club tournament.
Curiously, Chelsea was also present in that definition but their rival was Manchester United, who took the title with Cristiano Ronaldo at the helm.
