breathes Jouany Chatoux, already worried about the summer season.
Based in Gentioux-Pigerolles, in the Creuse and on the Millevaches plateau, the breeder owns around a hundred animals with a partner.
To perpetuate his organic farm as much as his profession, this forty-something however relies on a completely different product: cannabis.
Since 2018, Jouany Chatoux has gradually converted to this new crop with one objective: to demonstrate the economic relevance of this sector capable of offering farmers in Creuse as well as the department of stable income and a future.
“Limousin has the lowest agricultural income in France,” says the father.
In twenty years, we have tried everything: short circuits, postal parcels, the restaurant on the farm ... But opposite, the income is never up to par. "
