The Centre for Health Protection stated that the kindergarten involved was located on the ground floor of Tin Cheung House, Tin Ping Village, Sheung Shui. In the case, 17 children sought medical treatment from a private doctor. The kindergarten is under medical supervision.

The center also stated that because the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection are similar to those of new coronary pneumonia, the kindergarten has been included in the mandatory testing announcement on April 26 for the sake of caution; the center has asked the kindergarten to suspend classes for at least five days for cleaning and implementation of mandatory testing announcement.

The Center for Health Protection urges citizens and staff of institutions to be vigilant and maintain personal and environmental hygiene at all times.

The center also recommends that the public should be vaccinated against seasonal flu to protect their health; if they have symptoms of respiratory tract infection, they should wear a mask immediately, should not go to work or school, and avoid going to crowded places and consult a doctor as soon as possible.
