Official data showed that the rate of new cases of Covid 19 in France has slowed, and the number of cases in hospitals has decreased today, in the first week after the government eased the third general lockdown imposed in the country.
The Ministry of Health data showed that the number of cases increased by 26,000, bringing the total to 71.5 million, an increase of 2.22 percent compared to a week ago, the lowest increase on a weekly basis since late July 2020.
The increases, on a weekly basis, from the end of March to mid-April, were between five and six percent.
The number of Covid 19 patients in hospitals in France fell to 27,686, the largest drop in the number in one day since the end of November, when the general closure was the second in its last days.
France also recorded 244 deaths of Covid 19 in hospitals, compared with 243 yesterday, bringing the total to 105,631 deaths.
