Good news for commuters and users of the Schongau city bus: passengers there can now also use the Bayernticket.

The downside: it cannot be bought in the operating company's vehicles, but only from Regionalverkehr Oberbayern (RVO) or at the train station.

Schongau

- with the Bayernticket you can now also use the Schongau city bus: this is a positive change, but it still has a bland aftertaste that you can only buy the ticket yourself at the train station or at the RVO.

But it is the turn to use this service in the city bus, says the managing director of Enzian-Touristik GmbH, Simon Greinwald.

"A small but correct step"

For the mayor of Schongau, Falk Sluyterman (SPD), it is a “small but correct step” on the way to a noticeable upgrade of the range of local public transport services.

“With immediate effect, the Bayernticket is valid in our city buses.

I'm happy for everyone who wants to take advantage of this offer. "

Specifically, this means: If you want to travel across Bavaria with regional trains and board at a stop in the city, for example in Forchet or in the very west of Schongau, you no longer have to buy a ticket to travel to the train station.

However, the ticket cannot yet be bought in the city buses themselves.

Technically, it is not a very simple conversion process, old contracts would also have to be terminated and new ones concluded, Greinwald said.

“But we are on the matter.

At some point it will work. "

The Bayernticket is only valid from 9 a.m.

In addition, the Bayernticket can only be used from 9 a.m.

This means that all those who want to get on earlier have to buy the ticket separately.

“On the way back there are no time restrictions,” the town hall chief informs.

There was already a cooperation in January of this year: At the beginning of the year, the RVO and Enzian-Touristik launched a uniform tariff system for the Peiting and Schongau area (we reported).

Since then, the ticket for all buses of these two companies has cost 2.70 euros.

A boon for the users

A blessing for the users, as Peiting's Mayor Peter Ostenrieder (CSU) and his official colleague from Schongau found: “We finally have a uniform system.

Everything that makes local public transport easier plays into our cards, ”said Peiting's Mayor Peter Ostenrieder (CSU).

Sluyterman found the new system "simple and understandable".
