Eleven Afghan security forces were killed in a series of armed attacks in eastern Afghanistan last night.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted Ahmed Zia Yaqoubi, police chief in Khawaja Omari district, as saying that “Taliban militants launched attacks targeting three security sites of the Afghan forces in Ghazni province, killing four Afghan police, in addition to two intelligence officers,” referring to Four militants were killed during the confrontations.
In the neighboring province of Lagor, five Afghan policemen were killed in an armed attack targeting a security post near a police station in Pul-e-Alam district.
In Kunduz city, four civilians were injured and a car and minibus were destroyed in a bomb attack.
An Afghan police chief was killed and two others were wounded in an explosive device explosion targeting an Afghan police vehicle in Paktika province, east of the country, yesterday.
