2021-05-07T18:01:20.635Z

NEW - Nostalgic for the Empire? The Liège watch brand Col & MacArthur pays tribute to the bicentenary of the disappearance of the Eagle.

In Belgium, there is Waterloo, its (very dreary) plain, not far from Brussels, its Lion's Mound, and a superb museum dedicated to the last battle of the Emperor Napoleon, from which we come out almost wondering if ' he really lost it, so much is he honored. In Belgium, a hundred kilometers away, in Liège, there is also the watch brand Col & MacArthur, specializing in the creation of commemorative watches. In a few years, this young Belgian house has already dedicated timepieces to De Gaulle, Leonard De Vinci or Magellan. In. 2018, his model commemorating the memory of the Poilus of 14-18 and the Armistice was even given to Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel. The concept of the brand based in Liège and created by Sebastien Colen is clear: to tell our common story through timepieces rich in symbolic details.

The sense of detail of this commemorative coin is also found in its hands, with the hand of justice on the hour hand, and the bee on the minute hand, chosen by Napoleon in order to link this new dynasty to a millennium of Kings who made France.

Finally, on the back of the case is a famous portrait of Napoleon on horseback.

Enough to convince many nostalgic people to discreetly wear the arms of the Empire on their wrist.
