At least twenty people were killed in a shootout during an anti-drug cartel operation in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
The newspaper (O Globo) quoted local sources as saying that at least twenty people, including a police officer, were killed during an exchange of fire at the (Jacarezinho Chanti) metro station in Rio de Janeiro during a police operation against drug trafficking gangs in the city.
The sources added that two passengers on the train were injured during the clash, without revealing further details.
