Huada Gene issued a statement today (6th), referring to a 29-year-old employee who received a nucleic acid test at the mobile sampling station at On Hing Street Playground in Yuen Long on Tuesday (4th) and was notified that the result was "positive" on Wednesday.

However, the two samples collected by the Hospital Authority after admission showed "negative" results.

And the Hospital Authority conducted another nucleic acid test for him today. The result was also "negative", which means it may be a "false positive".

Huada pointed out that the Huadapu Laboratory was notified tonight that mandatory testing is required and 10 colleagues need to be quarantined.

Huada Gene said that some employees tested positive after the first test but were negative in subsequent retests.

The employee involved had been vaccinated with two doses of Fubitai

BGI said that the male employee was the supervisor of one of the community testing centers and was responsible for center management. He was not involved in sampling work and had already received two doses of Fubitai vaccination on the 20th of last month.

He received a nucleic acid test at the mobile sampling station at On Hing Street Playground in Yuen Long on Tuesday (4th) and was notified that the result was "positive" on Wednesday.

Later, he was arranged to be admitted to a public hospital for isolation. Two samples collected by the Hospital Authority tested negative.

The Hospital Authority conducted two more nucleic acid tests for him today, and the results were also "negative."

The 10 colleagues who had close contact with the employee have been placed under quarantine by the Department of Health.

BGI has completed a deep cleansing of the laboratory building in Tai Po on Wednesday and performed nucleic acid tests for about 170 colleagues, all of which were negative.

Huada was notified tonight that people who had stayed at Huadapu Laboratory for two hours from April 23 to May 6 need to undergo mandatory testing.

BGI has notified relevant employees and asked them to conduct tests at a testing center not operated by BGI to obtain neutral test results.

BGI said that the mobile sampling station at On Hing Street Playground in Yuen Long is operated by another operator. The group has instructed colleagues to undergo nucleic acid tests on a regular basis, and the colleagues will decide where to perform the tests according to actual needs.

BGI urges the Department of Health to consider that when the test result of a suspected confirmed person is confirmed to be negative, the relevant close contacts can be quarantined earlier.
