Indonesian police reported that up to 10,000 airline passengers may have been scammed after being tested for COVID-19 with repurposed nasal swabs.
The events occurred at the Kualanamu International Airport, where 5 employees of the country's pharmaceutical company Kimia Farma were arrested on April 27.
The scam would have been going on for 4 months.
CNN has reached out to Kimia Farma for comment.
