He loved his job and hometown with body and soul.

Now the innkeeper and hotelier Hanns Kümmerle died a few days before his birthday.

Peiting

- An apprenticeship as a master butcher and cook was the basis for Kümmerle's cuisine, which is valued far beyond the district boundary. He was always committed to the tradition of the “Zum Pinzger” inn, which was the scene of important events in Peiting for centuries. In 1983 he was very happy to be included in the pub guide “The most beautiful and cozy inns in Bavaria between the Danube and the Alps”. As a well-established Bavarian inn with its own butcher's shop and regulars' table, the inn was also praised in the Münchner Merkur in 1992.

During the extensive renovation work, it was very important to Kümmerle that the striking building with its historic bay window and inviting beer garden in the center of the village kept its face.

The extensive roof repair was completed in August 1981 with the installation of the restored, over 300-year-old Lorraine cross on the tip of the bay.

Hans Kümmerle is dead: he loved his job and relaxing while fishing

He received great praise from the then managing director of the tourist association, Heinrich Vogler, for installing the Zirbelstube in the former butcher's shop. This association was a vision of him, which the Junge Union accepted. “He lived entirely for his company, there was hardly any time for vacation,” recalls his friend Hermann Kögl. Only once, when he was young, was there a week in southern France and skiing in Bad Kleinkirchheim. Kümmerle found relaxation while fishing on the Lech.

In his youth he would have liked to have worked longer in renowned companies in Augsburg and Munich.

But after the early death of his father, he had to go back in 1961 to support his mother in the kitchen.

In order to revive the Peitinger Hauptplatz, Kümmerle demolished the former post office building in the Pinzgerhof after the renovation of the inn had been completed and built a residential and commercial building with brother Max.

In the former farm building, the Alpenhotel Pfaffenwinkel was built next to medical practices.

Popular innkeeper and hotelier has died: Hans Kümmerle found happiness with his wife Areta at a later date

In 2010, in addition to being mentioned in the Varta and Michelin travel guides, the hotel was also listed in the culinary travel guide “gusto”.

As a devout Catholic, the deceased belonged to the "Brotherhood of the Scourged Savior on the Wies".

His friends Hubert Filser, Professor of Dogmatics, and Pastor Rupert Bader also met regularly for breakfast with veal sausages.

At Bader in Vils, Kümmerle and his wife Areta tied the knot - late luck.

He was particularly pleased that his son Hansi became an acolyte and chased the puck at the ECP.
