Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that the European Union bears the responsibility of completely undermining relations with Russia, referring in this regard to the sanctions imposed by the Union against Moscow under false pretenses.
Lavrov said after talks with his Armenian counterpart Ara Evazian in Yerevan, according to Sputnik that the relations between the two sides witnessed an unprecedented development one day, but the union completely destroyed the structure of relations against the background of pretexts related to the crisis in Ukraine, especially the issue of the return of the Crimean peninsula to its homeland. The West did not like it.
Lavrov said that the series of sanctions launched by the member states of the European Union and other Western countries, including the United States, is still continuing, and of course it will not remain without a response from us, as those measures against Russia, representatives of the Russian leadership, Russian parliamentarians and companies that the European Union considers guilty were taken without any reasons. The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced earlier that Moscow had not started a war of sanctions with the West, but was ready at any moment to end this absurd confrontation between the two parties.
Regarding the Karabakh region, Lavrov said: “We are monitoring positive trends in the region. The situation on the ground has returned to normal significantly, and the Russian peacekeepers are working as a guarantor of security. They are deployed along the line of contact and along the Lachin Corridor. Exchange of prisoners of war ”.
