Syrian students and members of the Syrian community in Russia commemorated the nation's martyrs during a meeting they held at the headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in the Russian capital, Moscow.
On this occasion, which was attended by the people of Syria from the Expatriate League, the party organization and the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students in Russia and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Syrian ambassador to Russia, Dr. Riad Haddad, confirmed in a speech that “Our steadfast hero people have proven that the Syrians have moved their homeland from the homeland of the martyrs to the homeland of martyrdom as a culture. The meeting is an affirmation of loyalty to the blood of the martyrs and a pledge to complete the path they took and to carry the banner for which they were martyred.
Ambassador Haddad stressed that the role of the expatriate is no less important than the role of the rest of the citizens who face the hordes of systematic terrorism, noting that the Syrians are facing the most severe types of terrorism and the dirtiest war known to mankind, and they are not only defending Syria and its sovereignty, but also defending the future of the region and its peoples.
With regard to the presidential election, Ambassador Haddad said that it is the duty of every citizen to exercise his constitutional right and participate in the elections to thwart the plots targeting Syria.
In the interventions of the attendees, the student colleagues emphasized the importance of participating in the elections, and the head of the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students, Luay Abdullah, said, “We renew the pledge of fulfillment by completing the march of our heroes martyrs, whose sacrifices the homeland has regained its stability, preserved its sovereignty and won.”
In turn, the official of the party organization, Dr. Bassam Al-Shalabi, affirmed that the Martyrs' Day is a historic day in the lives of all Syrians because thanks to the blood of the martyrs, we lived in a safe, independent and sovereign Syria that is resistant to all enemies, and today we are following this march to keep Syria strong and solid.
For his part, the head of the Syrian community in Russia and independent countries, Wael Junaid, expressed great pride in the martyrs of the homeland who gave their lives so that our Syrian people could live free and independent.
