Built to compensate for the Grand Palais, closed for renovations, the ephemeral structure by Jean-Michel Wilmotte can be seen from afar.
In the shape of a white cross, it measures 10,000 m2.
"It's a UFO,"

Grand Palais: finished the architectural gesture, long live the restoration
The very short deadline was met thanks to a prefabricated structure which arrived by about fifty trucks.
“Everything was well ordered.
From the arrival of the 44 arches to the bolting of the elements together, to fix them on the piles, ”
says the architect.
The architectural result is spectacular, by the size of the volumes, with its huge bay windows opening onto the facade of the Military School, and in the Eiffel Tower-Trocadero axis.
But also by the presence of wood combined with a midnight blue arch giving the feeling of being in a soft and human-sized setting.
