The city of Nuremberg wants to continue to support young people in the future who need support with their qualifications and vocational training.

Nuremberg - The city of Nuremberg * will continue to support young people in the future who need support to graduate from a general school and master the transition to vocational training.

In February 2021, the Ministry of Culture initially cut funding for the program.

However, now there is a new decision.

Nuremberg: City leaders welcomed the decision to continue career support

The top of the city of Nuremberg welcomes the decision of the state government to continue the career start-up support.

The individual socio-educational measure begins in the preliminary class and bridges the gap into the first year of training.

It will initially be continued for the new group of participants in 2021/22 and financed by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment together with the Federal Employment Agency.

"It is extremely good news that the Free State of Bavaria is continuing its support in the transition from school to professional life," commented Mayor * Marcus König (CSU *) in a message from the Nuremberg City Hall.

“The career start-up support guarantees an offer for schoolchildren with particularly high needs.

Nobody should be lost! "

Nuremberg: Support gap is avoided by taking measures

After the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs forged plans at the beginning of February 2021 not to continue financing the career guidance measure for career start-up support from the next school year (2021/22), the city of Nuremberg was hit hard.

There would have been a gap in care of 305 places for the target group of those young people who have particularly great difficulties transitioning from school to training.

Together with other municipalities, the city of Nuremberg has campaigned for the preservation of this important pillar in Nuremberg's transition management school - job.

So the city of Nuremberg turned to Minister of State Dr.

Florian Herrmann, the head of the State Chancellery, also brought the topic to the agenda of several committees of the Bavarian City Council and, last but not least, the Corona “Partnership for Training” task force also agreed to continue.
