The mutant virus entered the community. All the residents in Block 11 of Yue Tao Heen in Yingwan Garden, Tung Chung suddenly evacuated to the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center on the evening of last Thursday (April 29) and began their quarantine life on the 21st.

In the past few days, households have complained about chaotic arrangements and insufficient support from the authorities.

Mr. Tang, a resident of Yingwanyuan, who is currently under quarantine in Penny's Bay, told "Hong Kong 01" that he was unwell yesterday afternoon (5th) and requested to be sent to hospital in the isolation camp, but it has taken 2 hours to wait for the ambulance.

After receiving treatment in the hospital, he was placed in an isolation area outside the North Lantau Hospital, waiting for the Department of Health to arrange for a vehicle to be picked up to the quarantine center.

But after waiting and waiting, Mr. Deng finally waited for 11 hours and was arranged to be picked up to the quarantine center at 2 am.

He criticized that the authorities' quarantine arrangements were chaotic.

"Hong Kong 01" is inquiring about the incident with relevant government departments.

Mr. Tang, who lives in Block 11 of Yue Tao Heen in Yingwan Garden, Tung Chung, was sent to the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center for isolation with a family of three.

He had difficulty urinating due to prostate problems yesterday. He was asked to be sent to the hospital at 12 noon. However, after waiting for about 2 hours, an ambulance arrived at the camp and was taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of North Lantau Hospital.

After treatment and hanging a urine bag, he was arranged to wait in an outdoor temporary isolation area at 3:30 in the afternoon. He learned that he would have to wait for a vehicle arranged by the Department of Health to be returned to the quarantine center. It is estimated that arrangements could not be made until midnight.

There are 10 temporary isolation areas in the emergency vehicle parking area of the hospital, separated by rubber panels, with only one rubber chair in each compartment.

Mr. Deng started to wait at 3:30 in the afternoon. He was bitten by mosquitoes from time to time in the sultry weather. By 5:30 in the afternoon, he received a lunch box. There has been no news since then.

It was not until about 2 o'clock in the morning this morning that the hospital staff would provide water and biscuits to relieve their hunger.

He described that when he was waiting to return to the isolation camp, he felt like living in a third world country, and he questioned the inhumane treatment of patients by the authorities.

After getting on the bus, the hospital notifies that the medicine has not been taken

Mr. Deng continued to point out that during the waiting period, he called several times to inquire about when the authorities would send a special car back to the quarantine center. However, there was no reply. Deng finally waited for 11 hours. At about 2:30 in the morning, there was a vehicle to pick you up. A citizen who had also been waiting for a long time was sent back to Penny's Bay.

He said that when he was about to arrive at the quarantine center, a nurse from the hospital called the driver, saying that the two had not yet received the medicines and asked the original car to return, but they felt exhausted at the time. In addition, they were not emergency medicines. Toss, rather than take medicine.

He bluntly said that there was only one appeal at the time, "I will go back to train!" Thinking back to this unforgettable experience, he couldn't help saying that he was transported like a pet, and he didn't know which department he could complain to.

Quarantine life depends on mutual assistance among residents

After being quarantined for 7 days, Mr. Deng said that he can only rely on mutual assistance among residents of Yingwan Garden, and enthusiastic residents provide a platform for quarantine residents to fill in the necessary materials, such as toilet paper, medicine, shampoo, etc., which are delivered free of charge every day.

He bluntly said that the neighbourhood’s support was very fast. The order was placed in the morning and the supplies were received in the evening. His son was also given toys and crayons to pass the time by volunteers to help the residents tide over the difficulties. He believed that he was more reliable than the government department.

Residents initiated a joint signing to request the authorities to reconsider the need for quarantine of the entire building

He himself sold nostalgic items in the upper storey, frankly saying that he still had to pay the rent of shops and residences during the quarantine period and suffered heavy losses. He believed that if there was a problem with the drainage system, why he could not be released after compulsory inspection, and asked the authorities to clearly explain the definition of close contacts.

Residents of Block 11 of the Bayfront Villas also initiated a joint signature, alleging that all residents were labeled as "contacts" of the confirmed cases, causing physical and psychological harm to innocent citizens, and asked the authorities to explain why they were defined as "close contact with the infected person" "Reconsidering the need for the 11th comprehensive quarantine order, issuing a quarantine exemption policy for vaccines that have been vaccinated, and compensating for loss of income, etc.
