In principle, the Wolfratshausen city council is open to so-called tiny houses.

But the committee was not specific to the association “Simply live together”.

Wolfratshausen

- In its most recent meeting, the city council unanimously gave a positive signal for so-called tiny houses (in German: "tiny houses").

The Flößerstadt sees “small mobile forms of living as a good opportunity” to create additional living space.

The occasion was a citizen application that the Wolfratshauser Thorsten Thane had pushed.

In an interview with our volunteer Dominik Stallein, the first board member of the “Simply live together” association talks about why he still doesn't break out into jubilation - and what the decision means for his dream to live in a tiny house.

Mr. Thane, the city council has issued a "policy statement".

What does that mean in your opinion?

Specifically, that doesn't mean anything at first.

The city council has issued a statement - no more, but also no less.

This is because a passage has been deleted from our citizens' application.

They wanted to get the city council to say that the committee would welcome private owners offering building plots for lease.

Correct.

However, this section was deleted from the application because the city council does not want to interfere in private law decisions, does not consider itself "as a broker" and apparently has no staff for it.

And you don't share these arguments?

Well

If maybe two or three property owners would come forward, I don't think you would need any additional staff in the town hall.

In addition, the city would not actively intervene at any point.

It would only have been an encouragement to owners.

I would have preferred that our motion had been discussed unchanged and that the decision would not have been unanimous in the end.

As the city council has now decided, it is just a political statement without the incentive to implement it in practice.

I would have hoped for more courage.

So you are dissatisfied with the decision - despite the approval?

I am not completely unhappy, but neither do I burst into cheers.

The decision is too vague for me for that.

Yes, it is a political signal with an external impact and that is good.

We didn't get any real tailwind for a project.

We are in the same place as before the decision.

So the decision leaves me ambivalent.

Are there any property owners who would be willing to provide space?

There are at least the first interested parties.

What is the next step for you and your club?

We are in contact with local politicians from other municipalities who wanted to wait for the Wolfratshausen decision.

Perhaps there will be another advance there.

But all of this is still very unclear and far from being ready for a decision.

Dare a prognosis: When will you build your tiny house in Wolfratshausen?

No idea.

If we had a space, we would have to start discussing all the legal details and then we could plan.

I would like to involve a representative from the city in this process so that everything fits.

But we're not that far.

It stands and falls with an area.

My tiny house would at least be ready to move in very soon.

I just need a place for it - and the building permit.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular Wolfratshausen-Geretsried newsletter.
