It has been more than a year since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong government has been promoting anti-epidemic policies—not to mention testing and verification, mobilizing medical personnel and masks and other anti-epidemic items, as well as financial assistance to the unemployed and stranded enterprises.

Although the government has made obvious hard work in closed area testing and vaccination recently, the progress of vaccination has been slow, and citizens' dissatisfaction with the government has continued to rise as the fourth wave of the epidemic continues.

Let alone the Central Government’s dissatisfaction with the Hong Kong Government, I believe that even the general public, including those with moderate political opinions or those who are politically indifferent, are completely disappointed in the Hong Kong Government.

We hope that the Hong Kong government and the general public can lead the anti-epidemic policy with scientific thinking, instead of being robbed by politics or ideology.

As a group of young people including members of the public health sector, we do not believe that blind criticism can make policies better.

Through the following suggestions, we hope that we can create a good idea and stimulate the society to make rational discussions, so as to promote a more local and practical anti-epidemic policy.

At the same time, we hope that the Hong Kong government and the general public can lead the anti-epidemic policy with scientific thinking, instead of being robbed by politics or ideology, so that Hong Kong can return to prosperity as soon as possible.

1. Vaccines and testing must be a two-pronged approach

2. The government must speak "human words" that citizens can understand

3. Why not encourage vaccination with actual benefits?

4. Return to the scientific governance of Hong Kong, and don't let politics ruin governance

For the details of the four suggestions, please read the full text of the "Hong Kong 01" weekly newsletter.
