(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 05 - The transition of the economy onto a "sustainable path" can no longer be postponed but "is a difficult process that requires strong cooperation" on a global level to be successful. This was stated by the governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco speaking at a round table on the occasion of the 54th annual conference of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The governor thus recalled the role of multilateral development banks which, since 2017, have guaranteed developing countries about 200 billion a year that have been used "in part for projects" on the climate. Visco then underlined the importance of involving private resources in these projects and of a necessary regulatory and institutional framework. (HANDLE).
