Herrsching
- A moderately injured man and two slightly injured people were involved in a traffic accident that occurred yesterday at around 12 noon on the district road STA 9 in Herrsching. A 31-year-old from Munich drove his Mercedes Sprinter on the road from Herrsching in the direction of Frieding. In a right-hand bend, he came to the opposite lane, presumably due to an inappropriate speed, where he collided with a BMW.
The BMW, driven by a 27-year-old Herrschinger, was pushed to the right against the guardrail.
In the collision, the head of the Mercedes driver, who is currently not wearing a seat belt, hit the windshield.
He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment by rescue helicopter with moderate injuries.
The BMW driver and his 28-year-old co-driver from Herrsching suffered minor injuries.
Both vehicles had to be towed.
The police estimate the property damage at around 50,000 euros.
The district road was closed in the accident area for about 2.5 hours.

Too fast on a wet road
Too high speed on a wet road and too little profile on the rear tires were probably the undoing of the 19-year-old BMW driver on Wednesday evening.
According to the police, the man from Wörthsee was on the 2068 state road from Seefeld in the direction of Herrsching at 10.30 p.m. when he lost control of his highly motorized vehicle shortly after the turnoff to Pilsenseestrasse.
The BMW turned left into the opposite lane, drove over the sidewalk, flung to the right again because of the embankment there and overturned.
The car ended up lying on the roof on the right-hand side of the road.
The driver and his 19-year-old co-driver from Herrsching were uninjured.
The BMW had to be towed.
The police estimate the property damage at around 40,000 euros.
