The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health announced today that there were 3 new cases, including one man and two women, aged between 22 and 67. One of them was a local case with no source, a 29-year-old man working at BGI (Case No: 11801) ), have visited many testing centers in charge of BGI.

After the man was admitted to the hospital, the test result was negative, and the antibody test was also negative. However, Ou Jiarong, chief physician of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Centre for Health Protection, said that his clinical manifestations appeared to be infection. It is estimated that the virus appeared for a short time due to two doses of Fubitai vaccine. And the amount of virus is low, but the source of infection has not been confirmed in the community or laboratory for the time being.

Ou admitted that this was the first two-dose vaccination, and the case was confirmed 14 days later.

In addition, another 22-year-old (case number: 11802) Indian domestic helper was diagnosed after completing the quarantine. Ou Jiarong said that his virus load was low and his CT value was 38. Therefore, he was preliminarily classified as an imported case and was infected before arriving in Hong Kong.

Huada Gene said that some employees tested positive after the first test but were negative in subsequent retests.

The male patient working at BGI Gene works on the 2nd floor of BGI Gene, Tai Po Industrial Estate. He has lived in an office building for the past month, and his last work day is May 5.

He has a regular weekly virus test at BGI. The result of the sample on May 2 was negative. On May 4, he was sampled at the On Hing Street Community Testing Center in Yuen Long. The sample was positive, but it was not the N501Y variant virus.

However, samples and antibodies of the patient were negative after admission, but the anti-RBD test was positive. Ou Jiarong pointed out that the patient had been vaccinated at the Tai Po Stadium on March 20 and April 10. The clinical situation of the virus appears to be an infection. It is estimated that the vaccine is protective, causing the virus to appear briefly and the amount of virus is very low.

Ou said that the patient's low viral load proves that vaccination can indeed help patients. Even if they are infected with the virus, they have no symptoms and low virus release.

Failed to determine whether the laboratory infection has been to multiple testing stations

Ou continued that the patient had visited many testing stations under the jurisdiction of BGI to assist in triage and registration, including the Yuen Long East Community Hall, To Kwa Wan Stadium, Tung Chung North Park Football Stadium, and Tuen Mun Siu Lin Community Hall. , Airport Departure Hall, etc.

He said that the patient will use the peace of mind to travel, and will release the information.

The samples at the airport, the 12th quarantine and the 19th quarantine were all negative. On April 28, the 26th day of arrival in Hong Kong, the samples were still negative. Until May 5, they were in Tai Po at the time of compulsory testing for foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong. Taihe Gymnasium tested positive again. Ou Jiarong pointed out that her CT value was 38, and she was checking for N501Y variant virus. There was no result yet. The test result of her sample after admission was indeterminate, and the antibody test was negative.

Ou Jiarong pointed out that it was initially defined as an imported case. It is estimated that the case has been diagnosed before arriving in Hong Kong. She will continue to monitor her condition in the hospital when she is in Fuyang in Hong Kong.

Ou said that after leaving the quarantine hotel, the Indian domestic helpers mainly stayed in the village house in Fangmapu, Lam Village, Tai Po. They lived with the employer’s five family members. They had visited the third floor of the Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices on April 24. The Immigration Department has issued an ID card, and has been to the Smith Barney Medical Examination Center in Jordan, and the Ma Taifei maid in Tai Po Plaza has seen brokers. The employers, family members and immigration staff who live with them are listed as close contacts and must be quarantined.
